Last weekend, I helped my friend Pouya Dianat with the shooting of his short film, GEARS. He and his friend/roommate, Jonathan Cribbs, wrote the script and cast it. What was interesting about the making of GEARS is that Pouya used DSLR’s to capture the video. To put this in layman’s terms, he used cameras that were traditionally used for only still photographs (the kinds of cameras I use). Recently, several DSLR models have been released that can shoot still photographs, as well as capture HD video. Pouya used Nikon D3 camera bodies and Nikkor as well as Carl Zeiss lenses for the film. Audio was captured externally and will be added in during the editing process. This portion of the film was shot in abandoned factory (Thomaston Mills) in Griffin.

Fellow photographer and friend Greg Foster took this picture of me while giving a workshop on lighting at the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar. I used a Photoshop filter to give it an old-timey feel. I may start a modeling career, but I have a feeling it would be as short-lived as my singing career (another photo by Greg).

Well, not really, but at least I can look like it. This picture is from an assignment the other day, where I had to stand in for a real chessmaster while we adjusted the lighting. Go ahead….make your move. Sorry, I had to do it.

I think I’m going to try my hand at being a rock star. Just kidding, I don’t think I would make it very far. This photo was taken while I was working with freelancer Greg Foster for Sports Illustrated for Kids Tuesday night in Atlanta. I was standing in for Giants pitcher Barry Zito, who Greg photographed in a similar pose. The magazine is doing an issue on athletes who are also musicians. I have to say that I think I do look good behind the mic though.

So I recently picked up golf, and I thought it was time I showed all of you just how good I am. I’m currently looking for sponsors to go pro, so if you know of any companies looking to sponsor an aspiring Tour legend, let me know.
